Our Work

We’re cultural communicators in the business of creative community-building through two access points: language and storytelling.

Southeast Asian Heritage Program (Hmong, Khmer, Lao, Vietnamese)
8-weeks intensives for speakers of a SEA language who want to learn an introduction to reading/writing/speaking; integrated with a snapshot in history, social issues and culture. Registration for Fall 2019 will be open soon! Please visit the Workshops page for more information.

Southeast Asian History, Culture and Social Issues Pop-Up Workshops
Theme-based topics in history, geography, classics, literature, art, food and social issues led by knowledge experts, healers and artists.

Community Conversations and Engagement Events
One-time opportunities that directly connect SEA leaders with culturally-based workshops, conversations and events (SEAD hosted or with collaborative partners).

Southeast Asian Diaspora Storytelling (SEADS) Initiative
Through critical cultural conversations, creative inquiry and healing justice lens, SEADS aims to gather youth, elders, activists, veterans, artists and other affected and invisible voices to discuss, acknowledge, reflect on war and memory and create art that honors the journeys of our Minnesota Southeast Asian Diaspora communities (Hmong, Khmer, Lao, Viet and other ethnic groups).
